D Day!

The deadline has arrived! You have until 3pm today to update your blog - beyond this point you should not edit, amend or add anything unless I come to you and advise you to do so in person.

You need to create a final blog post called 'Post Evaluation Production'. In this post you need to be clear about what you have done to improve your work and why. Do a mini evaluative paragraph about your final products.

Good luck!

Your Production Work

Your Production is worth 60 marks/ 60% of your coursework grade and therefore 30% of you whole AS Level.

You need to post your improvements on your blog by lunchtime today - I will be moderating what is there and if it is work I have already given you feedback on this is a waste of your time and mine and Mr Farr's.

Look at these examples: Example Work (OCR) where would your production fit in?

I gave you all a list of improvements and will give you another at the start of next week. It is easy to make a few amendments and launch up the levels or stay where you stand, which for some of you is a disappoiting E grade.

See me at lunch in E20 if you have any issues. Otherwise post away!

Drafting your Article

Today you will draft your article in Word. By the end of the lesson, you must print your first draft (the more complete this is, the more feedback you will get).

Your article needs to:
- Promote your fictional artist/ band
- Be presented in a format that is conventional to music magazines
- All features of layout/ design identified in your research

If you are not sure what to include/ need some inspiration then do more research and don't forget to create a blog post about it. Here are just a couple of articles to get you started...

Blog Progress

Ensure that you have completed all amber/ red tasks for next lesson:

Deadline: Friday 13th March

Magazine Article Research and Planning

It is important that you work on your Research and Planning today in lesson and continue with this at home, as so much of your production work can only be done in school on Fireworks.

I will be checking your progress today and issuing relevant sanctions and rewards.

All of you should have already produced an analysis, which focuses on layout.
Most of your have started to consider layouts (x4 designs) including all features.
Some of you will have considered the content of your magazine article (and may have typed some ideas up in word)

Today, you all need to get these complete by next lesson when we will begin to draft the content of your article.

Half Term Checklist

You must ensure you do the following over half term:

- Create the front cover/ contents page blog post (see post from earlier today below)
- Make changes and improvements to your Research and Planning (this will be provisionally remarked as a whole over half term)
- Buy/ read music magazine articles online and create a blog post about your findings including visuals (you may choose to buy a magazine from your genre or use Google images to help)

Deadline: Tuesday 24th February

First Completed Draft

As per my previous blog post, you should have a completed version of your magazine front cover and contents page today. A first draft.

You task: Create a blog post of these two documents with a long description or annotations of:

  • Things you are pleased with;
  • Problems that you have encountered with Fireworks and how you have overcome them;
  • Things that you hope to do to improve your work.
This needs to be done by the end of the lesson.

Fireworks

Any work that is not complete by this stage must be completed in your own time as it is late and you are falling behind.

You have limited access to Fireworks to make your front cover and contents page. You have the rest of the lessons until half term to produce a first draft of both of these. Deadline:Thursday 12th February 2015.

Contents Pages

So... We're going to work on your magazine front cover production on a one to one basis over the next week. As a result, you need to move on...

Create a blog post about contents pages considering the following questions:
1. What things are usually featured in music magazines?
2. What does the layout of a contents page include?
3. Find a good example (clear!) of a contents page from your music magazine and analyse it in a media form that you deem appropriate.

Try to do this before the end of the lesson!
