Holidays Tasks

You are expected to have finished everything and blogged it up to date (see my last post with progress check spreadsheet). This includes: Your Brand Identity post; Audience Questionnaire with results and analysis; Reflection on your findings; Magazine Layouts; Hand drawn design (try to include more than one idea - up to three). You can find A* examples of all tasks on the blog link below.

Holiday Task 1:  http://hannahmelia1.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/photo-planning.html Complete your photography planning for your front page. You should now know what your main image will be. See the A* exemplar to show you what is expected from this post:

  • Photo planning
  • Moodboard
  • Schedule
Holiday Task 2: Take your photographs (using a camera rather than an iPhone - the quality needs to be excellent to secure the best production mark possible). Upload these to Flickr and blog the link. You must have these in our next lesson.

Optional Task: Do a first mock up on Fireworks of your music magazine (try to ensure there are some things you intend to change to show progress as you make your production piece).

All of this is due in our first lesson back: Wednesday 14th January.

Merry Christmas and good luck with your mock exams!

Evaluation/ Reflection

When you have finished your draft - write answers to the following questions on your blog to evaluate/ reflect on your production.

1.In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? (what have you included that we would expect to see on a magazine front cover?)

2.How does your media product represent particular social groups? (Most of you have a picture of students – how are they presented?)

3.Who would be the audience for your media product?

4.How did you attract/address your audience? (What have you done that would make school students buy your magazine?)

Audience Feedback Homework

Audience Feedback

Homework:
Ask 3 people the following questions:
1.What do you think of my school magazine front cover draft?
2.How could I improve it to make it look more professional?
3.Which part of the magazine do you like the most and why?
4. If the magazine was on sale in school, would you buy it?
5.How effective do you think the main image and masthead are?
